WWE Personnel Impressed by AJ Lee’s Return at WrestlePalooza
Indianapolis, IN – Following a nearly ten-year absence, AJ Lee’s return to teh WWE ring at WrestlePalooza on september 21, 2025, garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback from within the company.Lee teamed with CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag match, culminating in Lee forcing Lynch to submit with her signature Black widow.
Sources within WWE, speaking with Fightful Select, confirmed a strong backstage reaction to Lee’s performance. “We’ve heard the backstage reception to AJ Lee’s first match back was very positive. Those that we spoke to in WWE felt she did really well,” a source stated.
The match itself was described as intense, with Lee demonstrating no signs of ring rust despite her extended time away.She executed a Thesz Press, spin kick, and crossbody before securing the victory over “The Man.” Throughout the contest, fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse chanted, “you’ve Still Got It!”
lee’s last WWE match prior to WrestlePalooza took place in March 2015 on RAW, where she competed alongside Naomi and Paige. Her successful return suggests she remains capable of competing at a high level with WWE’s current roster.
