AI Fears: Brisbane Entrepreneur Lists $25M Mansion Amid Tech Concerns
Brisbane property developer Emil Juresic has listed his sprawling Indooroopilly mansion, ‘Hacienda’, for $25 million, citing fears about the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy and property market. Juresic, the founder of NGU Real Estate, is also planning to sell his entire property portfolio, believing AI-driven job displacement will lead to reduced borrowing power and falling house prices.
The three-level mansion at 3/249 Harts Road spans 1400 square meters and overlooks the Indooroopilly Golf Course. Juresic previously rejected offers of up to $22 million for the property a couple of years ago, but now believes the timing is right to sell. He explained his decision on the Australian Property Investment Podcast, stating he anticipates being able to repurchase properties at significantly lower prices in the near future. “Over the next two weeks, every … property I have, I’m selling — including my own home,” he said. “Somebody says; ‘Why would you do that?’ Because I’ll be able to buy my … own home back for half of the price in two years’ time’.”
‘Hacienda’ boasts five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a six-car garage, a home office, and three separate entertaining areas. A dedicated wellness zone includes a commercial-grade gym, steam room, sauna, and a private cinema. The property also features an 18-meter heated lap pool and is one of only three residences on the golf course offering complete privacy, according to Juresic. “You’re only 4.5km from the city, yet it’s dead quiet,” he said.
Built in 2023, the home includes high-end finishes and custom design elements. The kitchen features a 6-meter marble island and $200,000 worth of Gaggenau appliances. The outdoor entertaining area is equipped with a $30,000 built-in barbecue, a teppanyaki grill, wine fridges, a bar, a pizza oven, and a $120,000 rotisserie. The 250 square meter master suite occupies an entire floor and includes a living room with a fireplace, a travertine-adorned en suite with a circular tub offering golf course views, and a walk-in wardrobe with a champagne station and make-up lounge.
Additional features of the property include a firepit for 12 people, a 1,000-bottle humidified wine cellar, a glass-encased lift, $500,000 worth of smart home automation technology, and a hidden panic room. All furniture was custom-made, with interior design by Maison Elise Studio and overall design by Studio Collective. The property incorporates $1 million worth of natural stone.
The listing comes as Brisbane’s residential property market continues to evolve. A knockdown property at 17 Julius St, Modern Farm, set a record sale price of $25 million late last year, a benchmark ‘Hacienda’ is aiming to match. The property is being marketed through NGU Real Estate.
