Tony Khan Reiterates AEWS Interest in Chris Jericho‘s Return
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan has affirmed his desire to see Chris Jericho back in the ring, addressing recent speculation regarding the veteran wrestler’s future. the comments come as Jericho remains absent from AEW programming as April, fueling rumors of a potential move to rival promotion WWE.
Jericho’s extended absence has prompted discussion among fans and industry observers, particularly given his status as AEW’s inaugural World Champion and a foundational star of the company. Khan’s statements, made in a recent interview with The Sportster, signal AEW’s continued openness to Jericho’s return, despite his commitments outside of professional wrestling.
“Chris is certainly one of the most significant stars ever in AEW,” Khan stated. “He’s the first-ever AEW World Champion… If possible, I’d love to have Chris back as soon as possible. We’ll see when Chris returns, but I think Chris is someone we always love having in AEW, and the door is always open for his return.”
Khan acknowledged Jericho’s diverse career, encompassing both a accomplished music career with the band Fozzy and acting roles.He noted that Jericho’s current focus lies outside of pro wrestling, but emphasized his value to AEW when he is involved.
“He’s been a big star for us,and he also has a lot of things going on outside of pro wrestling,” khan explained. “Whether it’s acting or his music career, he’s doing a lot of great things… So definitely always thinking the best of Chris, and woudl be excited to get his return.”
Jericho is currently scheduled to appear in the films “Self Storage” and “The Walk-On’s.” Fozzy is also booked for a tour beginning in February 2026.
