Adolescence Sweeps Limited Series Categories at Emmys, 15-Year-old Owen Cooper Makes History
Los Angeles – The limited series Adolescence dominated the evening at the recent awards gala, securing wins for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, as well as acting awards for Stephen Graham, Cristin Milioti, Owen Cooper, and Erin Doherty. Notably, Owen cooper, at age 15, became the youngest actor ever too receive an award in any of the acting categories, winning for Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or movie for his role in Adolescence.
The gala, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, featured a unique twist: a running tally of money deducted for speeches exceeding the 45-second time limit, with funds added back for those that ran short. “Don’t go crazy, because I am paying for this,” Bargatze quipped during the event. While a money counter was initially displayed, it was later removed as considerable donations from Bargatze and others ultimately covered any deductions.
Other major award recipients included The Pitt, named Outstanding Drama Series, and The Studio, which took home the award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Britt Lower of Severance won Lead Actress in a Drama, while Noah Wyle, also of The Pitt, was named Lead Actor in a Drama. Seth Rogen (The Studio) and Jean Smart (Hacks) earned Lead Actor and Actress honors in the comedy categories, respectively.
