Adobe Generative Credits Not Applying: Fix & Troubleshooting

February 26, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

A team of ten at an unnamed organization are experiencing delays in accessing generative AI credits purchased through Adobe Photoshop, despite administrative approval. The issue, first surfacing several days ago, centers on a purchased credit pack that has not been reflected in the user’s account, even after confirmation from the organization’s administrator that the account was added to the group with access.

The situation highlights growing complexities surrounding Adobe’s credit system for its generative AI tools. Introduced alongside features powered by Firefly, Adobe’s generative AI model, the credit system dictates usage of tools like Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and others within Photoshop. Adobe has begun tracking generative credit use, according to reports, and the system is designed to manage access to the computationally intensive processes required for AI image and video generation.

The user’s administrator confirmed the account was correctly added to the group authorized to utilize the credits, suggesting the problem lies within Adobe’s internal systems. The organization purchased a credit pack to resolve the initial depletion of credits, but the purchased credits have not been applied. This has halted the team’s workflow, as access to key AI-powered features is dependent on these credits.

Recent reporting indicates that certain AI tools within Photoshop consume credits at varying rates. Fstoppers noted that some features drain credit balances more quickly than others, potentially exacerbating issues for teams relying heavily on specific functionalities. Adobe Firefly itself now offers unlimited image and video generations, but this appears to be separate from the credit system governing features within Photoshop, and may include access to third-party models.

The user expressed frustration with the system’s complexity and perceived lack of support, stating that “nothing works and it’s all exceptionally complicated and messy.” Adobe has not yet publicly responded to this specific instance, and the team awaits resolution to resume their operate. As of today, the credits remain unavailable.
