Adidas Spring Sneakers: Burgundy & Suede Styles for 2024
Adidas is emphasizing burgundy tones and suede textures in its women’s spring 2026 collection, signaling a shift towards richer colors after seasons dominated by neutrals. The German sportswear giant is reviving classic sneaker models, updating them with the tactile appeal of suede and the popular color.
The trend reflects a broader move within the footwear industry towards prioritizing texture and material play, according to industry observers. Adidas is featuring the trend prominently across several key styles, including the Aloha Super, Galapagos, and SL 72 PT.
The Adidas Aloha Super, designed to tap into the “blokecore” aesthetic, features a low-profile silhouette with a leather upper contrasted by burgundy suede detailing on its signature three stripes. The sneaker includes a synthetic and textile lining for comfort, and a semi-transparent caramel-colored rubber sole designed for grip on urban surfaces. The Aloha Super is available in blue and burgundy, priced at 65 euros, and yellow and black, priced at 100 euros, in sizes ranging from 36 to 48 and two-thirds.
The Galapagos model, inspired by Adidas’s 1970s Island Series, is constructed entirely in soft suede with a leather lining, aiming for a luxurious feel. Available exclusively in burgundy, the Galapagos comes in sizes 36 and two-thirds to 49 and one-third, and retails for 120 euros.
The SL 72 PT, another classic revival, combines nylon with suede reinforcements on the upper, and heel. The design incorporates an EVA foam midsole, a cellular rubber wedge in the heel, and an anti-slip rubber sole. The SL 72 PT is currently only offered in burgundy, with sizes ranging from 36 to 48 and two-thirds, and is priced at 120 euros.
Adidas’s spring collection demonstrates a commitment to reinterpreting its heritage styles for contemporary tastes, utilizing materials like suede and a focused color palette to appeal to current fashion trends.
