Adam Peaty’s Mother Shares Message Amid Gordon Ramsay Feud

Caroline Peaty, mother of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, shared a message about navigating “dark times” following Gordon Ramsay’s public rebuke of claims he bullied his son-in-law’s family. The post, featuring a sunset image and the words “You’re living proof that you can go through the darkest times and still come out kind, radiant, real and full of love,” appeared after Ramsay dismissed accusations of bullying as “absolute nonsense.”

The feud stems from the December wedding of Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay, daughter of the celebrity chef, at Bath Abbey. Reports indicate a significant rift within the Peaty family, resulting in Caroline Peaty being disinvited from the wedding, with only Adam’s sister, Bethany, in attendance.

Ramsay, who walked his daughter down the aisle, responded to the Peaty family’s allegations last week, telling The Sun, “I am certainly not a bully, and it is so appalling to even suggest there was any bullying.” He characterized the family’s claims as a “barrage of negativity that was self-propelled by them,” but also praised his new son-in-law, stating, “Adam is an incredible young lad and he and Holly are a wonderful, happy, young couple.”

Prior to Ramsay’s public statement, he and his wife, Tana, had asserted they had “done nothing wrong” in their interactions with the Peaty family, claiming they were treated “like royalty” leading up to the wedding, according to reports. However, a relative of the Peaty family countered these claims, alleging a lack of respect towards Caroline Peaty. “They ignored her existence and not once did Mrs Ramsay return any of Caroline’s texts,” the relative told The Sun. They also claimed a promised lunch following the engagement never took place.

The tensions reportedly escalated after Ramsay’s wedding speech, where he alluded to the absence of Adam Peaty’s parents. According to sources, Ramsay remarked to Holly, “Shame you don’t have the same [as Tana],” referencing his wife. Caroline Peaty was reportedly “outraged” and “hurt” by the comment, which a family source described as “cruel” and “very hurtful.”

Ramsay defended his speech in a subsequent appearance on This Morning in January, describing it as “perfect and warm.” He acknowledged the emotional weight of walking his daughter down the aisle, stating, “It’s tough, honestly… Being the dad with three daughters, you dream of that moment.”

Last month, the Peaty family reportedly told friends they had “given up hope” of reconciliation with their son following Ramsay’s social media activity. An insider stated, “It’s been a really emotional time for them as a family. They’re coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side.” The source added that the situation had “dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future.”
