ADWEEK Launches “Ad Critic” Franchise,Offering Expert Takes on Advertising Campaigns
NEW YORK – September 19,2025 – ADWEEK today announced the launch of “Ad Critic,” a new weekly franchise featuring in-depth reviews of current advertising campaigns from leading industry professionals. The series aims to provide insight into the strategies behind impactful ads and assess their effectiveness.
Each week, an “Ad Critic” will dissect a noteworthy campaign – one that is buzzy, influential, or potentially controversial – examining its messaging and its attempts to shape consumer behavior. The reviews will offer a unique perspective, allowing readers to view advertising through the eyes of top creatives.
ADWEEK will utilize the “ADWEEK Olive Scale” for ratings, awarding ads from one to five olives in a martini – with a “dirtier” martini (fewer olives) signifying a stronger, more effective ad.
The inaugural review, launching next week, will be penned by Susan Credle, global creative advisor at Interpublic and former chair and global CCO of FCB.
Readers are encouraged to submit campaigns for potential review to ADWEEK’s Creativity Editor, Brittaney Kiefer, at brittaney.kiefer@adweek.com.
