Adeline Blondieau Hospitalized After Car Accident in Southern France
Nîmes, France – Actress Adeline Blondieau, 54, was involved in a serious car accident yesterday while traveling in torrential rain in the Gard department of Southern France. Though thankfully suffering more shock than serious injury, the incident resulted in significant damage to her vehicle and required intervention from local emergency services.
Blondieau attributes the accident to aquaplaning on a departmental road she described as being “in poor condition.” Despite driving below the speed limit, she lost control of her car and collided with another vehicle. The incident underscores the dangers of driving in inclement weather and highlights ongoing concerns about road maintenance in the region.
According to BlondieauS account, after initially regaining control, she was unable to avoid a second impact. “I didn’t have time to avoid the car coming in front,” she stated. “The driver had the good instinct to accelerate, and avoided a head-on collision. I hit the back of his vehicle. He had nothing.” Her car then spun 360 degrees, coming to rest in a roadside ditch, narrowly avoiding a rollover.
The driver of the vehicle Blondieau struck was unharmed and provided support to the actress following the crash. Blondieau also praised the swift and compassionate response of the grau-du-Roi firefighters, gendarmes, and the emergency team from Nîmes-Carémeau. “It’s vital when you’ve experienced a shock to feel supported,” she emphasized.
Blondieau was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Her condition is currently stable, and she is expected to make a full recovery. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving, particularly during adverse weather conditions, and the vital role of responsive emergency services.
