Billy Idol​ Energizes Crowd at AcrisureArena with classic Hits

Thousand ​Palms,CA – ‍Billy Idol delivered⁣ a high-energy performance at Acrisure Arena on⁣ September 12,captivating a packed ⁢audience‍ with a setlist spanning‌ his decades-long career. the concert showcased both the enduring appeal⁣ of‌ Idol’s ‌signature songs ‍and the continued strength of his vocals, ⁢though some ⁢effects of age were noticeable during performances of “Eyes Without a⁢ Face” ⁢and “Mony Mony.”

Idol was joined ⁤by his longtime guitarist, Stevens, whose presence enhanced the live experience. The set included both older favorites and ‍newer material,⁤ all sounding strong,​ according to​ a report by The Desert ⁤Sun. ‌

The‍ concert shared the bill with a performance ‌by⁣ Joan Jett & The blackhearts, marking Jett’s third appearance at Acrisure arena since 2023. Jett⁣ previously⁣ opened ⁣for Bryan Adams in July⁢ 2023 and Alanis Morissette ‍last August. Her‍ set included hits like “Victim of Circumstance,” “Cherry ⁤Bomb,” “Do You Wanna Touch Me ‌(Oh Yeah),” “Fake‍ Friends,” and a cover of The​ Replacements’ “Androgynous.” Jett paused during her hour-long set⁣ to share a message​ of unity, ‍reciting lines⁣ from Abraham Lincoln’s⁢ Gettysburg‌ Address, specifically emphasizing “of the people,‌ by⁤ the people, for the people,” which drew enthusiastic applause. ​She ​closed with a string of covers including Sly & the Family Stone’s “Everyday People,” The Arrows’ “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” and Tommy James & the Shondells’‍ “Crimson & Clover,” finishing with ⁣”I⁢ Hate Myself for Loving You” and “Bad Reputation.”
