“Quotidien” Hits Season High Despite Viewership Dip with “wicked 2” Stars
PARIS, FRANCE – Despite losing over 300,000 viewers and 1.3 PDA points, TMC’s “Quotidien” with Yann Barthès achieved a season record in its final quarter-hour on October 26th, capturing 16.6% of the 25-49 demographic and 16% of the FRDA-50 audience. The program’s performance came during an evening featuring appearances by Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and Ariana Grande, promoting their upcoming film “Wicked 2.”
The viewership decline positions “Quotidien” behind Cyril Hanouna’s “Tout beau tout neuf” on W9, which garnered 12.6% of 25-49 year olds and 12.3% of FRDA-50 viewers. This shift in audience share underscores the competitive landscape of French access prime time, where talk shows vie for attention. While the star power of the “Wicked 2” cast failed to translate into overall gains for “Quotidien,” the show’s ability to secure a season-high demographic rating in its closing segment suggests continued appeal among younger viewers.
Elsewhere in the access prime time block, Cyril Hanouna’s program on W9 continues to perform strongly. France 5’s ”C’à vous, la suite” with Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine experienced a slight decrease (-0.3 points), while Arte’s “28 Minutes” saw a notable increase, gaining 150,000 viewers (+0.8 points).
In other programming news, “Scènes de ménages” on M6 drew 2.14 million viewers (10.9%), a slight dip from the previous day. “Un si grand soleil” on France 3 remained stable with 2.28 million viewers (11.7%), and “Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle” on TF1 Séries Films reached 356,000 viewers (1.8%). “All sport” on France 3 attracted 897,000 viewers (4.9%), while ”Top Mecanic” on RMC Découverte rose above 300,000 viewers (1.5%). TFX’s “The Villa of broken Hearts” garnered 198,000 viewers (1%).
