PARIS – Léa Salamé’s interview with Minister of the armed forces Sébastien Lecornu propelled “Access” on France 2 to a record audience as its September 1st return, surpassing Gilles Bouleau’s evening news broadcast on TF1. The program’s strong performance signals a potential shift in viewership as audiences seek out in-depth political discussion alongside conventional news reporting.
The success of “Access” comes amid fluctuating ratings for othre evening programs. While Cyril Hanouna’s “Tout beau, tout n9uf” on W9 demonstrated stability, gaining 0.5 audience share points in its final quarter-hour-reaching 12.9% of 25-49 year olds and 13% of FRDA-50-it followed a dip of 150,000 viewers and 0.6 audience share points after a double-record performance the previous day. Meanwhile, France 5’s “C à vous, la suite” fell below one million viewers and a 5% audience share, declining 1.1 points from the day prior,and arte’s “28 minutes” remained under 600,000 viewers.
France 2’s “Access” achieved audience shares of 22.7% (25-49 years old) and 22.2% (FRDA-50) during its final quarter-hour. In the realm of soap operas, “Un si grand soleil” on France 3 drew 2.26 million viewers (11.5%), though it experienced a 0.8-point decrease from the previous day. “Scènes de households” on M6 attracted 2.00 million viewers (10.1%), with a 1.3-point drop in audience share. ”More beautiful life, even more beautiful” on TF1 Séries Films garnered 308,000 viewers (1.5%).
Elsewhere, “All sport” on france 3 reached 656,000 viewers (3.3%), while “Top Mecanic” on RMC Découverte secured 323,000 viewers (1.6%). Reality television offerings included “The Villa of Broken Hearts” on TFX, with 226,000 viewers (1%), and “An almost perfect dinner” on Gulli, attracting 280,000 viewers (1.4%).
