The ABC has responded to criticism over a Bluey episode accused of fat-shaming and fatphobia by removing the scene in question and republishing the cartoon. The episode, called Exercise, featured Bluey’s parents obsessing over their weight in the bathroom. The new version replaces the scene with one showing the family exercising in the garden and Bandit visiting a GP who pronounces him “in great shape”. The Butterfly Foundation, an organisation offering support to eating disorder sufferers, thanked the producers for their “responsive” approach. Today show host Karl Stefanovic previously defended the episode.
