From LA Bar to Idaho altar: A Look Inside Abby Champion and Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Wedding Weekend
Abby Champion and Patrick Schwarzenegger’s love story began unexpectedly in 2015, during a casual Los Angeles outing. While on a date with a mutual friend,Patrick extended an invitation to join him and a group of friends at a local bar – a move that quickly sparked a connection. “He got my number, asked me out, and the rest is history,” Champion recalls.
Eight years later, the White Lotus actor proposed during a quiet morning beach walk in Santa Monica. What initially seemed like a typical coffee stroll transformed into a cherished memory when Champion spotted a heart crafted from roses in the sand. “It was intimate, relaxed, and everything I had ever imagined,” she shared.
The couple celebrated their union with a three-day wedding event in early September, choosing the scenic backdrop of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Ashley Graham Events orchestrated the festivities, with Schwarzenegger taking a surprisingly active role in the planning process. “Funny enough, it’s more Patrick’s personality to dive into the flowers and little details, so he helped with so much, which I absolutely loved,” Champion noted.
The celebrations commenced on Thursday, September 4th, with an intimate farm-to-table rehearsal dinner for family and the wedding party. Champion donned a Zimmerman gown, describing it as “something out of a dream,” while Schwarzenegger opted for a powder blue Tom Ford suit.
Friday brought a shift in atmosphere with a western-themed welcome barbecue held at Gozzer Ranch. Champion embraced the theme in a long-sleeved lace Bec + Bridge dress, paired with black cowboy boots and a hat.”Western night was a whole different vibe, and honestly, one of the most fun looks of the weekend,” she said.
The wedding ceremony took place on Saturday, September 6th. Champion walked down the aisle in a custom silk wool column gown designed by Danielle Frankel, featuring a high neck and a dramatic deep V back. Eschewing a traditional train, she chose a silk overskirt with a hand-painted lining, complemented by soft tulle opera-length gloves and a fingertip-length veil.Champion emphasized the importance of her collaboration with Frankel, stating, “as fitting and fashion are part of my profession, I knew I wanted to work with someone I felt wholly cozy with, someone I could openly share my thoughts and opinions with. From the moment I met Danielle, I knew she was the one.” Her look was completed with diamond stud earrings and a pearl ring from mackenna Thaler jewelry, and her hair and makeup were styled by Abby Moorer.
