The 33rd Annual Saints Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, May 18th at Chateau Golf & Country Club, according to CrescentCitySports.com CEO Ken Trahan.
The event, a scramble format tournament where par is considered advantageous, will be followed by an awards function held upstairs in the clubhouse. Organizers anticipate a significant celebrity presence at the function, with prizes awarded to the top three performing teams.
The golf classic has evolved over its 33-year history, initially starting as a slight fundraising effort in 1994 and growing into a prominent celebrity pro-am event. The Monday After the Masters, a similar charity golf event, has generated millions of dollars for children’s educational programs and junior golf initiatives in South Carolina, demonstrating the potential for charitable impact within these types of tournaments.
Recent award functions have been noted for their exclusivity, reserving attendance for individuals recognized for genuine talent and charisma, a trend observed in the 1990s and continuing today, as evidenced by footage of celebrity ramp walks at awards functions.
