Elisabeth Hasselbeck: ‘The View’ Return & ‘Armor of God’

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is preparing for her return to “The View” with a gift described as a “Full Armor of God” play set, a symbolic gesture reflecting her reliance on Christian faith as she re-enters the daytime talk show’s often contentious environment. The former co-host will be filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is currently on maternity leave, for a week beginning Monday, March 2.

The gift, from an unnamed friend, includes a “helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, spirit-of-the-word sword, [and] shield of faith, plus a shin guard to complete the fun!” according to manufacturer David C Cook, as reported by TV Insider.

Hasselbeck shared the gift via an Instagram Story, which has since expired, alongside an image of an annotated Bible, stating, “I’ve been trying to prep for The View, so my main research is right there. That’s the armor!”

Her return has already generated significant attention, mirroring the reactions to her previous tenure on the show, known for passionate and often controversial viewpoints. Hasselbeck was a full-time panelist on “The View” from 2003 to 2013 before departing for a role at Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

Newsclip.com reported that Hasselbeck’s approach to intertwining faith with public discourse is expected to be both a source of strength and a potential point of contention as she navigates contemporary media’s complex cultural landscape. The outlet noted the potential for her faith-driven insights to offer a unique perspective, but also the risk of alienating segments of the audience.

Entertainment Weekly reported on the gift, framing it as a form of protection for Hasselbeck as she returns to the show. The dynamics of her re-entry, and how she will balance her convictions with the demands of engaging dialogue, remain to be seen.
