French TV Show ‘Grand Cactus’ Team Shine on ‘Quelle Époque!’

The Belgian comedy troupe behind the popular show “Le Grand Cactus” made a significant impression on French television Saturday, appearing as guests on Léa Salamé’s talk show “Quelle époque!” on France 2.

The appearance of Jérôme De Warzée, Kody, Damien Gillard, and Cécile Giroud drew attention, following a previous interview with Yann Barthès on the French program “Quotidien” weeks prior. Salamé introduced the group, noting that the title of their show was suggested by an eight-year-old girl, a detail that surprised De Warzée, according to reporting in Parismatch.be.

“Le Grand Cactus,” which airs weekly on Tipik, has gained a following in Belgium for its satirical and self-deprecating humor. The program’s success in France is attributed to a “bienveillance mordante” – a biting kindness – and an ability to engage personalities from all walks of life, De Warzée explained, as reported by Parismatch.be. He credited the talent of the show’s comedians and their ability to react quickly to current events as key factors in its appeal.

“Quelle époque!” is described as a talk show that combines societal commentary with entertainment, featuring discussions between figures from culture, society, politics, and media. The program, hosted by Léa Salamé, also includes Hugo Clément, Paul de Saint Sernin, Guillaume de Saint Sernin, Philippe Caverivière, and Charlotte Dhenaux. The show aims to both reflect and question contemporary society.

The February 28th episode of “Quelle époque!” also featured Patrick Bruel, Sting, and Marine Delterme, among other guests, according to viralmag.fr.
