Cornell Gymnastics Defeats Southern Connecticut State 193.450-189.075

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell Sizeable Red gymnastics team secured a victory over Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday, posting a team score of 193.450 to Southern Connecticut’s 189.075 at Newman Arena. The meet also served as an opportunity to honor Cornell’s graduating seniors.

Cami Whitaker led Cornell on the vault, achieving a winning score of 9.750. Addy Rothstein followed closely behind, securing second place with a 9.725. Dahlia Jhaveri, Grace McLean and Michaela DeFrancisco all tied for third place, each earning a score of 9.700. Noelle Wojcik contributed a 9.550 to the team’s overall vault score of 48.575.

On the uneven bars, Sarah Goetter claimed the top spot with a score of 9.725. Rothstein again placed second, with a 9.700, while Morgen Shambo finished third at 9.650. Jhaveri and Natalia Tehrani both scored 9.600, and Josie Moylan added a 9.025, contributing to a team total of 48.275.

Grace McLean excelled on the balance beam, earning a winning score of 9.775. Mikayla Burton and Natalia Tehrani tied for second place, both achieving scores of 9.625. Anne MacKenzie added a 9.525, with Noelle Wojcik and Lauren Golioto also competing on the event. Cornell’s team score on beam was 47.900.

Josie Moylan delivered a standout performance on the floor exercise, winning with a score of 9.825. Cami Whitaker and Sarah Goetter tied for fourth place, both earning scores of 9.750. Ella Fox placed sixth with a 9.700, and Addy Rothstein and Grace McLean completed Cornell’s floor score of 48.700.

Cornell will next compete in a quad meet hosted by the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, on Saturday, March 7, with competition scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
