Barcelona, Spain – TELUS Digital is demonstrating production-ready artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for telecommunications providers at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, aiming to address a critical industry challenge: converting AI investment into measurable return on investment. The company’s showcase, located in Hall 6 #E7, features hands-on demonstrations of AI applications battle-tested within its parent company, TELUS.
According to NVIDIA’s 2025 State of AI in Telecommunications report, 44% of telecom operators prioritize customer experience (CX) optimization as their top AI investment, while 40% focus on network planning and operations. However, many communications service providers (CSPs) struggle to move beyond experimental phases and scale successful AI pilots into production systems.
TELUS Digital asserts it has overcome this hurdle, processing over 2 trillion tokens across dozens of AI models through its Fuel iX generative AI (GenAI) engine in 2025. The company will present an operational blueprint detailing this scale during a 90-minute presentation on March 4 at MWC 2026. “In the AI world, tokens represent the currency of experience. They distinguish organizations only experimenting with AI from those operating it at scale,” said Bret Kinsella, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Fuel iX at TELUS Digital.
HCLTech is similarly leveraging MWC 2026 to promote an “AI-native” future for the telecom industry. The company plans to host executive panels and CXO conversations focused on strategic shifts enabling AI-driven growth, with participation from industry leaders including Microsoft, Nokia, Ericsson, AT&T, Verizon, PwC and Bain. These discussions will center on embedding AI across core operations and unlocking platform-driven business models.
The focus on AI transformation extends beyond TELUS Digital and HCLTech. Industry leaders from Axiata, Singtel, MasOrange, and Liberty Latin America are also scheduled to participate in dialogues at MWC 2026, highlighting the broad industry interest in AI-driven solutions.
