The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is preparing for the debut of its newly renovated African Kopje habitat, featuring fennec fox kits named Echo and Radar, and will host a “Jazzoo” fundraising event in 2026.
The zoo, which spans over 200 acres and houses more than 1,700 animals, is also offering a sneak peek at the forthcoming Giraffe Crossing exhibit on March 7. According to the zoo’s website, We see home to over 10,000 animals representing more than 200 species.
Upcoming events scheduled for the late winter and spring include the annual Penguin March, taking place February 28 through March 1, and a Zoo Manoo Compost Sale on March 28 and again on April 4. The zoo will also host a “Meet the Easter Bunny” event on April 3 and 4, and Girl Scout-themed events on April 10 and 11.
The zoo is currently seeking staff and encourages interested applicants to apply. Friends of the Zoo members receive free year-round admission.
