Shield Crow & Carrion Crow ID: Korean Birding Confirmation?

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

Competitive Brawl Stars players are increasingly focusing on specific gear combinations for the character Crow, with a clear preference emerging for builds that maximize both damage output and survivability. Recent analysis of player strategies, documented on platforms like BrawlHub and Reddit, indicates a strong consensus around the Carrion Crow Star Power paired with either the Gadget Cooldown gear or a Shield gear.

The Carrion Crow Star Power, which increases damage to targets below 50% health by 40%, is considered essential for maximizing Crow’s potential, particularly in game modes like Heist where quickly eliminating opponents and destroying the safe are critical. According to BrawlHub, this Star Power is a “must-have” for Heist success. Players are as well leveraging the Slowing Toxin gadget, which slows poisoned enemies for three seconds, to create opportunities for follow-up attacks. The Gadget Cooldown gear is favored to allow for more frequent use of the Slowing Toxin.

Yet, recognizing Crow’s relatively low health, a significant number of players are opting for the Shield gear as an alternative. This gear provides a consumable shield of 900 health that regenerates over ten seconds when full health is restored. A post on the r/BrawlStarsCompetitive subreddit highlights the shield’s value in mitigating damage, particularly for players who struggle with survivability. The post suggests the shield can protect against approximately 46% of incoming damage.

Even as the Extra Toxic Star Power, which weakens enemies and reduces their damage output while poisoned, is considered viable, it is generally seen as secondary to the Carrion Crow Star Power. Noff.gg notes that Extra Toxic can be effective, but the Carrion Crow power offers a more consistent advantage. The Defense Booster gadget is suggested for use in Showdown, but the Slowing Toxin is preferred in 3v3 modes.

Crow’s statistics at level 11 reveal a very fast movement speed, moderate damage output (maximum of 640 per attack, with a burst of 640 per super) and a long attack range. His super attack consists of 14 individual attacks, each dealing 640 damage. The super charge rate is dependent on the number of attacks landed, ranging from 5% to 100%.

As of July 18, 2025, Crow is categorized as an S-Tier Assassin by BrawlHub, indicating his high competitive viability. The optimal build remains a subject of ongoing discussion within the Brawl Stars community, but the combination of Carrion Crow and either Gadget Cooldown or Shield gear consistently appears in top-tier recommendations.
