Orchestra Concert: Date, Time & Tickets Information

The Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá will perform a free concert on March 2nd at the León de Greiff auditorium at 4:00 p.m., featuring the tuba as a central instrument. The performance, led by Swedish conductor Christian Lindberg, will include Arild Plau’s “Concierto para tuba y orquesta de cuerdas,” as well as Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor.

The program, titled ‘A NIGHT AT THE OPERA,’ features arrangements by Anders Högstedt. The concert will begin with a prologue, followed by “Canzone, Andante” and conclude with “Finalle, Allegro” from Plau’s concerto. Bruckner’s symphony will be performed in its entirety, encompassing four movements: “Allegro,” “Adagio,” “Scherzo: Lebhaft – Trio: Langsam,” and “Finale: Bewegt und feurig.”

Separately, on March 1st and 2nd, the Orquesta Filarmónica De La Ciudad De México will present “Solistas OFCM,” featuring maestros Jacob DeVries on clarinet and Sofía Almanza Saavedra on fagot. Ludwig Carrasco will conduct the performance, which will include works by Louise Farrenc, Richard Strauss, and Piotr Ilich Chaikovski.

As well on March 2nd, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra is scheduled to perform at the Fórum Evolución at 8:15 p.m. Founded in 1879 by D. Pablo Sarasate, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra is the oldest active orchestral ensemble in Spain.

In Madrid, Los Conciertos de La 2 will broadcast performances throughout March, including concerts from the Orquesta y Coro RTVE (OCRTVE), the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España under Cornelius Meister, and the Orquestra de València performing the Concierto de Aranjuez. A concert on March 1st will feature soprano Jone Martínez with the Orquesta y Coro RTVE, conducted by Alexandre Bloch, performing works by Grieg, Poulenc, and Ravel. A solidarity concert, ‘Voces para la Paz,’ is scheduled for March 2nd, and a concert honoring victims of terrorism will be held on March 6th.
