LIPSCOMB County Drilling: No Gas or Oil Intentions – Duncan Oil Properties #1677H Star

Duncan Oil Properties, Inc. Received a permit to drill the #1677H Star well in Lipscomb County, Texas, on August 15, 2025, according to records from the Texas Drilling website.

The well is located in the Allen-Parker (Marmaton) formation and will be drilled on a 647.9-acre site at 315 feet from the south line and 1850 feet from the west line of Section 732, Block 43, of the H&TC RR Survey, A-1080. The bottom hole location is 20 feet from the south line and 2150 feet from the east line of Section 677, Block 43, H&TC, A-269. Christeina Gray of Duncan Oil Properties signed the drilling permit application.

This permit is one of 52 issued in Lipscomb County in 2025, a significant decrease from the 2024 total of 202 permits. Permit activity in the county peaked in 2023 with 308 permits issued, according to historical data. Duncan Oil Properties has been actively drilling in the region, with multiple wells already producing in Lipscomb County, including the Booth G 1637H, Booth G 3637HX, and Booth G 4637HX wells.

The company also operates wells in Custer and Ellis counties in Oklahoma, and has been producing oil and gas since July 1990. As of February 2026, Duncan Oil Properties has produced 6,901,628 barrels of oil and 199,133,911 MCF of natural gas. Current production estimates are 1,557 barrels of oil per day and 16,830 MCF of gas per day.

Valpoint Operating, LLC completed the #3 Rosie well in Roberts County, Texas, on February 26, 2025, testing at 36 barrels of oil, 276 MCF of gas, and 10 barrels of water per day. This well was spudded on December 30, 2024.
