Bronson Reed Injury Forces WWE to Rewrite Masked Man Angle

Bronson Reed suffered a torn biceps during a WWE Raw match on February 23, 2026, forcing a change in the planned outcome and potentially disrupting storylines involving Logan Paul and a mysterious masked figure, according to multiple reports.

The injury occurred during a Triple Threat qualifying match for the Men’s Elimination Chamber against Jey Uso and “Original” El Grande Americano. Reed was initially slated to win the match and secure the final spot in the Elimination Chamber, where he would challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania, but was unable to continue after landing awkwardly on his shoulder while attempting to break up a pinfall, as reported by Newsweek and SI.com.

Jey Uso ultimately won the match, joining Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams in the Elimination Chamber. Whereas, the circumstances surrounding the victory were altered by Reed’s injury. According to WrestleVotes, a report initially shared on X (formerly Twitter) and subsequently detailed on Fightful Select, the original plan for the match included a finish involving Logan Paul and the masked man who has been appearing on WWE programming.

“It was actually the running sliding lariat that did it,” Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio stated, describing the moment of injury. Dave Meltzer, also of Wrestling Observer Radio, confirmed that Reed “was gonna win the match.”

The injury to Reed represents a setback for The Vision, the faction he is a part of, which also includes Paul and, recently, Bron Breakker. Breakker recently underwent emergency surgery for a hernia, leaving the group vulnerable as WrestleMania approaches. Reed’s role as an enforcer for the faction, often working alongside Paul Heyman, will now be impacted by his recovery. WWE medical staff evaluated Reed backstage immediately following the match.

The extent of the disruption to the masked man storyline remains unclear. WrestleVotes reported that the angle will likely undergo “heavy rewrites” as a result of Reed’s injury. As of February 26, 2026, WWE has not publicly commented on the specifics of the storyline changes or the future involvement of the masked man.
