sosocamo & Grayto: How Music—and Love—Connected Them | Creative Process

The burgeoning career of rapper sosocamo took a pivotal turn when he connected with girlfriend Grayto, a producer whose early work was shared anonymously online, he revealed in a recent interview. The collaboration, initially professional, blossomed into a personal relationship and ultimately fueled both of their ascents in the music industry.

Sosocamo, whose real name has not been publicly released, described meeting Grayto through a mutual connection in Jacksonville, Florida. A friend of Grayto’s, who attended the same high school as sosocamo in North Carolina, recognized his talent as a rapper and facilitated an introduction. “She would only post faceless videos of her beats,” sosocamo said, recalling his initial impression of Grayto’s work. “So it was really genuine, she was just really talented.”

At first, sosocamo was drawn to Grayto’s beat-making style, which he characterized as similar to that of Lil Uzi Vert. They began exchanging beats and songs online for about a year before meeting in person. Once they started collaborating more seriously, sosocamo began posting music to TikTok “three times a day for weeks and months,” mirroring Grayto’s own viral strategy. The pair’s creative synergy proved potent; sosocamo credits Grayto’s first earnings from music as a key moment of realization. “I was just like, ‘Damn,’ like, this shit is real. Like I can really be serious and go crazy,” he stated.

Grayto has since executive produced sosocamo’s last two projects, solidifying their professional partnership. Sosocamo noted the evolution of their sound over the past few years, attributing it to their constant collaboration and shared dedication. “We just been putting up so many shots bro, putting up so many reps and you realize, with us being together side by side all the time, it was just… I don’t know, it was inevitable it would turn into something crazy,” he said.

Grayto’s music is available on TikTok, where a song titled “Sosocamo Unreleased” has gained traction, according to a recent post on the platform. She also maintains a presence on YouTube and TikTok under the handle @sosocamo, with over 67,000 followers on the latter platform, and shares content related to her music.
