February 25, 2026: History, Birthdays & Today’s Almanac

Rome – Celebrations marking Teo Teocoli’s 79th birthday on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, are overshadowed by a continuing public silence from Adriano Celentano regarding his longtime friend’s well-being. Teocoli, a prominent Italian comedian, actor, and television host, was born in 1945, according to an almanac published today.

The unusual situation began last September when Teocoli, appearing on the podcast Tintoria, expressed concern over Celentano’s withdrawal from contact. “He’s disappeared, doesn’t answer the phone, doesn’t speak to anyone,” Teocoli said, as reported by multiple Italian news outlets including TG24-Ore and H24News.it. He speculated Celentano may have suffered an artistic disappointment.

Celentano responded with a cryptic message posted on social media, stating he hadn’t been answering Teocoli’s calls given that he “wanted to” and that Teocoli shouldn’t be saddened by his lack of response. This response, described as a “latest formula” by Teocoli in an interview with Corriere della Sera, has done little to quell concerns.

Teocoli has since suggested that Celentano’s wife, Claudia Mori, may be influencing the situation, stating, “It’s Claudia Mori’s fault.” He recounted a decades-long friendship with Celentano, recalling waiting outside his home at age 14, believing Celentano’s name was spelled “Cedentano.”

The last time Teocoli saw Celentano, approximately four years ago, was at a birthday celebration that also included singer Riccardo Morandi, according to Teocoli. The pair had previously celebrated 40 birthdays together, a tradition seemingly halted in recent years.

As of Wednesday, Celentano has not publicly addressed Teocoli’s comments beyond his initial social media post. Representatives for Celentano have not responded to requests for comment.
