The UT Arlington Mavericks baseball team will host Dallas Baptist University Tuesday evening at Clay Gould Ballpark, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The matchup comes as UTA seeks to find consistency early in the season, currently holding a 2-5 overall record.

UTA is averaging over 5.0 runs per game, supported by a team on-base percentage approaching .400 through its first seven contests. Redshirt junior catcher Zach Mazoch has emerged as a key offensive contributor, currently batting .500 with multiple multi-hit games and a team-leading on-base percentage exceeding .560. Senior infielder Xavier Melendez is also performing well, hitting above .350 and reaching base in every game played this season.

The Mavericks’ pitching staff has demonstrated a strong ability to generate strikeouts, averaging better than one strikeout per inning. UTA is looking to improve its situational execution on the mound as the season progresses. Dallas Baptist enters the game with a 4-3 record, having achieved a 4-0 record at home but were recently swept in a road series at UTSA.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Mavericks are scheduled to travel to Arkansas for a three-game series against the #6 ranked Razorbacks, beginning on Friday.
