Gochang County received 107.9 million won in accumulated funds from the Nonghyup Bank Gochang branch on February 19, funds generated through a co-branded card program, officials confirmed.
The funds, accumulated over the past year, are based on usage of corporate cards, subsidy cards, and welfare cards used by Gochang County employees, accruing between 0.1% and 1% of each transaction, according to a statement released by the county. The accumulated funds will be allocated to welfare programs and regional development projects.
“The annual accumulation of co-branded card funds, as well as various collaborative projects, have been a great help in the regional development,” said Gochang County Mayor Sim Deok-seop. “The funds will be used transparently and carefully for the welfare improvement and community development of Gochang County.”
The transfer of funds took place at a ceremony held in the Gochang County office, attended by Mayor Sim and NH Nonghyup Bank Gochang Branch Manager Lee Mi-jeong. The partnership between Gochang County and the NH Nonghyup Bank Gochang branch was established through a co-branded card agreement.
NH Nonghyup Bank Gochang Branch Manager Lee Mi-jeong oversaw the fund transfer, which is intended to bolster local initiatives. The county plans to utilize the funds to support ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents and fostering economic growth within the region.
