Sony Korea officially launched its sixth-generation flagship wireless noise-canceling earbuds, the WF-1000XM6, on February 23, 2026. The new earbuds, the latest in the popular 1000X series, were first unveiled during a Naver Shopping Live broadcast, “Hot IT Show,” at 7 p.m. KST and will be available for purchase starting February 24th through Sony’s online store, the Naver Brand Store, and the Sony Store in Apgujeong, among other official sales channels.

The WF-1000XM6 represents a significant upgrade across multiple areas, including noise cancellation precision, sound quality, comfort, call quality, connection stability, and design, according to Sony Korea. A key improvement is a 25% enhancement in noise cancellation performance compared to the previous WF-1000XM5 model. This advancement is achieved through the integration of the latest HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e and four microphones per earbud, delivering what Sony claims is industry-leading noise reduction.

The earbuds particularly excel in mitigating mid- and high-frequency sounds, making them effective in noisy environments such as subway stations and cafes. The integrated V2 processor utilizes adaptive noise canceling optimization, analyzing external environments and earbud fit in real-time to effectively block noise even from small gaps between the eartip and the ear. Four sizes of noise isolation ear tips are included to facilitate a customized fit.

Sound quality has also been substantially improved. The QN3e and V2 processors work in tandem to deliver enhanced audio. The QN3e-based DAC amplifier provides clear and detailed sound reproduction across all frequencies, whereas the V2 processor supports 32-bit signal processing, a step up from the 24-bit processing of the previous generation, enabling high-resolution audio delivery.
