Katy Perry & Justin Trudeau: Inside His $3.1M Montreal Estate

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has purchased a historic estate in Montreal’s Outremont neighborhood for $3.1 million, according to property records confirmed by the Daily Mail. The purchase, finalized on February 16th, was secured with a mortgage from the Bank of Montreal.

The nearly century-old stone dwelling features seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, along with a ballroom and a sophisticated office, spread across 4,965 square feet. The property sits on a 13,672-square-foot lot, shielded by mature trees, shrubs, and a metal fence, offering a degree of privacy for the former prime minister and his girlfriend, Katy Perry.

The estate includes a driveway and gated pathway on the north side, and a two-car garage and stone staircase on the south. It was initially listed for $3.3 million by broker Joseph Montanaro last year, according to the Daily Mail.

Trudeau’s acquisition of the property follows his confirmation of a relationship with pop star Katy Perry last October. The pair were first seen together in July 2025, sparking dating rumors that intensified after a public appearance at a cabaret show in Paris, as reported by TMZ.

Perry and Trudeau’s relationship emerged months after Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom after nine years together. Bloom has described their separation as amicable, emphasizing their continued commitment to co-parenting their five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, according to reports from Us Weekly.

The former prime minister, who left office in March 2025 after a decade-long tenure, is reportedly undertaking extensive renovations at the Outremont estate, with contractors observed at the property, according to Reality Tea. He was also reportedly seen giving Perry a tour of the home.

Trudeau purchased the property from Nicolas Ruggieri, leader of the real estate section at Batipart Invest, who had acquired it in 2023 for $3.9 million from Marc DeSerres. Annual property taxes are estimated at $28,000.

Following his departure from office, Trudeau receives an annual pension of $192,537, with an additional retirement allowance scheduled to start when he turns 67. During his final year as prime minister, his salary was $299,000.

Trudeau’s three children currently reside with their mother, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in Montreal, following the couple’s separation in August 2023. A spokesperson for the former prime minister stated that both parents will remain actively involved in their children’s lives.

Perry, meanwhile, has been linked to properties in Montecito, California, including a megamansion purchased in 2020 for $14.2 million, which is currently undergoing renovations. Another property in Montecito is reportedly leased to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger, according to Realtor.com.
