by Priya Shah – Business Editor

The Economist has launched the third season of its limited-series podcast, “Boss Class,” focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence in the workplace. The new season debuted on January 29th, 2026, and is available to subscribers of Economist Podcasts+, according to information released by The Economist Group.

Hosted by Andrew Palmer, author of The Economist’s “Bartleby” column on work, “Boss Class” aims to provide practical advice for managers based on insights from CEOs, academics, and other leaders. The podcast’s first two seasons, released in 2025, covered topics such as hiring practices, team management, and effective meetings. Season two featured interviews with Lars Jorgensen of Novo Nordisk, Michelle Gass of Levi’s, Ilkka Paananen of Supercell, and Liz Reid of Google.

The third season’s initial episode explores how employees and managers should integrate AI into their daily routines and prepare for its future impact. In the episode, Palmer experiments with using the generative AI program Claude to write his management column, with results detailed in both his column and Claude’s generated version.

Economist Podcasts+ subscribers have access to the full series. The Economist is also offering a weekly newsletter providing direct access to the Bartleby columnist and additional advice on navigating workplace challenges. To mark the launch of the latest season, the first season of “Boss Class” is temporarily available outside of the paywall.

“Boss Class” is the fifth limited series created for Economist Podcasts+, The Economist’s podcast subscription service. The podcast’s format includes thematic episodes, leader interviews, and company profiles.
