WWE NXT wrestler Mike D. Vecchio has been rebranded as Dorian Van Dux, the organization confirmed this week.
The name change, formalized through a WWE trademark filing earlier in February, was announced by Vecchio himself via social media, where he updated his account handles and released a vignette showcasing his latest persona. The vignette, described as “Bloodsport-style,” features intense action and imagery, signaling a shift in character for the Belgian-born wrestler.
Vecchio signed with WWE in September 2025 and began appearing at NXT live events under his birth name, Mike Derudder. Prior to joining WWE, he competed extensively on the European independent circuit, wrestling for promotions including wXw, PROGRESS Wrestling, and RevPro.
The rebranding of Vecchio as Dorian Van Dux is part of a larger wave of name changes within NXT. WWE recently filed trademarks for several other potential in-ring names, including CJ Valor, Santi Rivera, Kai Kavari, Romeo Moreno, and Tristan Angels. Nathaniel Cranton, now performing as Tristan Angels, was previously identified as one of the new recruits.
Vecchio was part of the NXT recruiting class introduced in October 2025, alongside Angels and Cyril Coquerelle, who now wrestles under the name Aigle Blanc. His physical stature – listed as 5’11” and 242 lbs – and high-flying wrestling style are expected to create a significant impact in the heavyweight division, according to observers.
Robert Stone, a peer within NXT, has reportedly been watching Van Dux’s development closely. Fans have already begun speculating about his potential to become a dominant force on the NXT roster.
