Chelsea vs Burnley: Rosenior Names Line-Up – Premier League Team News

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has made five changes to the starting lineup for today’s Premier League match against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

The alterations come after seven changes were made to the side that secured an FA Cup victory over Hull City last week, according to the club. Robert Sanchez will start in goal, protected by a defense comprised of captain Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, and Malo Gusto. Marc Cucurella is absent from the squad due to an injury.

In midfield, Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos will partner each other, supporting an attacking trio of Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, and Enzo Fernandez. Joao Pedro will lead the line for the Blues.

The Chelsea bench includes goalkeepers Slonina and Acheampong, defenders Tosin and Sarr, midfielder Hato, and forwards Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap, and Marc Guiu. Notably, Romeo Lavia is included in a matchday squad for the first time since November 1, having recently featured for Chelsea Under-21s.

The inclusion of Lavia marks his return to contention after a period on the sidelines, offering Rosenior additional options in midfield. The team faces Burnley aiming to improve upon a historically poor record at Stamford Bridge against their opponents, as noted by The Chelsea Chronicle.

Chelsea Starting XI: Sanchez; James (c), Fofana, Chalobah, Gusto; Caicedo, Santos; Neto, Palmer, Fernandez; Joao Pedro

Chelsea Substitutes: Slonina, Acheampong, Tosin, Sarr, Hato, Lavia, Garnacho, Delap, Guiu
