The Houston Avenue Bridge will fully close to traffic from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for scheduled repairs, according to a post on the ABC13 Houston Facebook page.
The closure will allow crews to perform necessary maintenance on the bridge, which carries Houston Avenue over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Details regarding the specific nature of the repairs were not immediately available.
Kat Lee questioned why the bridge wasn’t raised instead of repaired, according to a comment on the ABC13 post.
The planned closure comes after a fire was reported in the 1300 block of Crosstimbers near the North Freeway on January 25, 2026, as reported by GrizzysHoodNews on Facebook. No injuries were reported in that incident.
A separate Facebook post from January 22, 2026, indicated discussion surrounding a reelection plan, with one commenter identifying themselves as Kat Lee, criticizing a politician as a “DINO.” This post does not appear to be directly related to the bridge repairs.
