SAN MARCOS, Texas – Oklahoma State’s Ruby Meylan delivered a dominant pitching performance Thursday, leading the No. 24/19 Cowgirls to a 5-0 victory over Texas State at the River State Classic. Meylan’s complete-game, one-hit shutout propelled OSU to its fourth win in the last five games, improving their season record to 8-4.

Meylan (3-3) showcased her control and precision, allowing just one hit while striking out seven batters in seven innings. She required only 87 pitches to complete the shutout, limiting the Bobcats to three baserunners throughout the contest. Texas State’s Madison Azua, the Sun Belt Conference preseason pitcher of the year, took the loss, falling to 3-4 on the season.

The Cowgirls broke the scoreless tie in the third inning with an RBI single from Claire Timm. Timm extended the lead in the fifth, driving in another run with a single to make it 2-0. Oklahoma State then capitalized on a three-run sixth inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Jayden Jones and a two-run single from Rosie Davis, to secure the 5-0 advantage.

Oklahoma State’s offense generated 10 hits, but stranded seven runners on base, demonstrating opportunities for further offensive output. The team reached base in all but two innings of the game.

The victory comes as Meylan, a transfer from Washington, continues to establish herself as a key player for the Cowgirls. She was recently recognized for her off-season perform with Oklahoma State softball legend Michele Smith, according to reports. Prior to the 2026 season, Meylan also announced her engagement to former Oklahoma State baseball player Brayden Smith.

Oklahoma State will continue play at the River State Classic tomorrow, facing Brown at 11 a.m. CT and Colorado State at 6:30 p.m. CT.
