IFC Films will release the trailer for the action-comedy thriller “Over Your Dead Body” on Thursday, offering a first look at the darkly humorous conflict between Samara Weaving and Jason Segel. The film is slated to open in theaters on April 24, 2026.
The plot centers on a married couple attempting to mend their fractured relationship at a remote cabin, unaware that each is secretly planning to kill the other. The trailer showcases a blend of comedic timing and violent action as their attempts escalate, drawing in a wider circle of characters.
Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Paul Guilfoyle, and Keith Jardine also star in the film, adding to the ensemble cast. Jorma Taccone, known for his perform on “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” and “MacGruber,” directs the project.
The screenplay is credited to Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. Production is handled by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Aram Tertzakian, Nick Spicer, Guy Danella, and Lee Kim, with 87North – the production company behind action films like “John Wick” and “Nobody” – contributing to the action sequences.
IFC Films acquired the rights to distribute “Over Your Dead Body,” according to reports. The film’s release date remains set for April 24th, with the trailer now available for public viewing.
