Norco has introduced the Sight VLT TQ, a new mid-power e-mountain bike utilizing a TQ HPR60 drive unit, positioning it as a lighter-weight alternative to its existing e-MTB lineup. The Sight VLT TQ joins the non-motorized Sight and the Sight VLT CX, expanding the Sight family to three models.
The new bike features 150mm of rear suspension travel and 160mm in the fork, mirroring the travel figures of the Sight VLT CX and the standard Sight. Like the CX model, the Sight VLT TQ is a dedicated mixed-wheel bike, employing a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, and does not offer the option to convert between wheel sizes.
A key difference between the Sight VLT TQ and the CX lies in the motor and battery. The TQ model utilizes a smaller and lighter TQ HPR60 motor, delivering 60 Nm of torque and 350W of power, paired with a 580Wh battery. This contrasts with the CX’s powertrain. Norco states the Sight VLT TQ is designed to provide a more “nimble and natural feeling” ride, allowing riders to “be the pilot, not the passenger.”
The frame design shares similarities with both the Sight and Sight VLT CX, featuring a high-pivot Horst link suspension layout with an idler pulley. While, the downtube and bottom bracket area of the TQ model are slimmer due to the smaller motor and battery. Internal cable routing is fully guided, and the frame includes water bottle mounts within the front triangle, along with an additional accessory mount.
The Sight VLT TQ C1, a specific model within the range, has a measured weight of 44.3 lb (20.1 kg) in size S4. Complete bikes are priced between $6,999 and $10,599 USD. Geometry highlights for a size S3 include a 64° headtube angle and a reach of 472-475 mm, with a rear center of 436 mm.
The introduction of the Sight VLT TQ represents Norco’s entry into the mid-power e-mountain bike category, offering a different riding experience compared to its higher-powered counterpart, the Sight VLT CX.
