Yonago Airport: 3,000 Yen QUO Card Reward for Seoul/Incheon Flights

Yonago Airport in Tottori Prefecture is offering a 3,000 yen (approximately $20 USD) QUO Card Pay reward to passengers traveling between Yonago and Seoul/Incheon, South Korea. The incentive program, designed to bolster travel on the route, began February 14th and will run through February 28th, with a second period from March 9th to March 22nd.

Travelers departing from Yonago Airport are eligible for the reward, which is delivered as a QUO Card Pay, a prepaid card widely used in Japan. Applicants must complete an advance application through the “Tottori Electronic Application Service.” The application process is being conducted in rounds, with the second round open until 160 applicants are received, and a third round opening March 1st, similarly capped at 160 applicants.

The program requires a two-step process for travelers. Following ticket purchase, applicants must complete the advance application prior to their departure. After completing their trip, passengers are then required to submit a “performance report” including copies of their flight ticket, passport, and any other documentation deemed necessary by the airport authority.

The initiative comes as South Korean airlines are increasing flight capacity to various cities in Japan, according to reports. This expansion in air service suggests a growing demand for travel between the two countries. However, recent reports also indicate that flight prices to Japan have decreased, falling below the cost of the country’s high-speed rail network, the KTX, due to concerns surrounding earthquake risks.

Yonago Airport is located in Tottori Prefecture, a region known for its sand dunes and connection to the manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. A road named in Mizuki’s honor attracted over 1.5 million visitors in 2023, demonstrating the region’s appeal as a tourist destination.
