LAFAYETTE, La. — Monty Lopez, the father of TikTok star Addison Rae, was arrested in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, on July 27, 2025, and charged with felony obscenity, according to court documents obtained by multiple news outlets on February 17, 2026.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office alleges that Lopez, whose legal name is Manolito Juan Lopez, exposed himself in a public place with the intent to arouse sexual desire, according to documents reviewed by Zaptv.com and TMZ.
The alleged incident occurred on August 31, 2024, nearly a year before Lopez’s arrest, according to reports. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which are classified as a sex crime, and faces a potential sentence of one year of hard labor, as recommended by prosecutors. His bond was set at $2,500.
A court hearing is scheduled for March 19, 2026, to address the charges. As of Tuesday afternoon, a representative for Lopez had not responded to requests for comment from E! News.
The arrest follows a period of public scrutiny surrounding the Lopez family. Monty Lopez and Addison Rae’s mother, Sheri Easterling, married in 2004, divorced, remarried in 2017, and ultimately separated permanently in 2022 following allegations of infidelity on Lopez’s part. Easterling has since been dating rapper Yung Gravy.
Lopez recently remarried Kaitlyn Nicole Robins in Las Vegas in October 2025, after a brief courtship. Addison Rae has not publicly commented on her father’s legal issues.
