Axelle Perronnet: 7 Years Without a Full Night’s Sleep & Family Life Secrets

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

Axelle Perronnet, a mother featured on the French reality television show Familles nombreuses : la vie en XXL, detailed her elaborate bedtime routine for her four children during Monday’s broadcast. Perronnet described a carefully orchestrated process, but confessed to consistently sacrificing her own sleep.

Familles nombreuses : la vie en XXL returned to French television on February 9th, featuring returning families such as the Romeros, the Blois, the Lecossais, and the Gayat, alongside recent families including the Delannoy, the Charfeddine, the Piquel, the Lihoreau, and the Perronnet family, according to the broadcast.

Perronnet and her husband, Florian, prioritize a traditional lifestyle, including a recent home birth of their fifth child. Perronnet has since undergone a medical procedure that prevents further pregnancies. She explained that the bedtime ritual begins around 7:30 PM. “Generally, they move to bed early because sleep is crucial in the family, except for me – I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in seven years,” she stated, as reported in the broadcast.

The routine includes reading a book to all four children. “I do what I dreamed of having when I was little, without criticizing my childhood,” Perronnet said. She elaborated, explaining that her parents worked long hours, and her own childhood bedtime routine involved her stuffed animals. “So it’s important to do it with my children now.”

Following the story, the routine incorporates a song and a “card draw.” Perronnet revealed she has created a task chart where each child selects their preferred song and story. She emphasized the importance of not rushing the process, stating, “I discover it counterproductive, it stresses them out and it’s complicated.” The entire ritual takes approximately 30 minutes.

Jessica Gajderowicz authored the report, which was created in collaboration with 6medias.
