Petti Arrossagaray, an 18-year-old rugby player from Mauléon, has been selected for a training camp with the France U20 development team, the SA Mauléon club announced Sunday.

The prop forward, a product of the Entente Mauléon – Barcus – Menditte development program, has quickly established himself in the senior squad this season, playing in Nationale 2. He was a starter in Saturday’s 14-20 victory against Salles, according to the club’s Instagram page.

The selection represents a significant step for Arrossagaray, described as a “bébé lion” of Soule, and provides an opportunity to showcase his talent at the Centre National du Rugby in Marcoussis, the training base for the French national team. The camp serves as a pathway to the French U20 squad, known as “Les Bleuets.”

Arrossagaray, who stands at 1.84 meters (approximately 6 feet) and weighs 113 kilograms (approximately 249 pounds), will join the team on Monday. The France U20 team currently includes players with market values ranging from €100k to €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt, though Arrossagaray’s value has not yet been assessed.

The French Rugby Federation lists the current U20 squad on its website, but details regarding the development team camp, including the specific objectives and coaching staff, have not been publicly released.
