MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), for its Ambulatory Treatment Center in Northwest Houston, Texas, according to a job posting published February 15, 2026.
The APP role will be based within the Northwest Surgery Center, with potential travel required to The Woodlands and West Houston for clinical coverage. Training will be conducted at the Texas Medical Center. The position focuses on delivering direct diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients throughout their cancer treatment journey.
Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, triage of acute needs within the infusion environment, coordination of multidisciplinary care, and contributions to clinical quality and patient outcomes. The APP will be expected to order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies and therapeutic procedures, and prescribe medications within established institutional guidelines. They will also perform credentialed procedures as needed.
MD Anderson is prioritizing candidates with at least one year of Medical Oncology experience and a demonstrated ability to manage complex oncology care. However, the center is also open to new graduates with registered nurse experience in an Ambulatory Treatment Center or Chemotherapy Infusion environment.
The position offers a salary range of $117,500 to $176,500 annually, with a midpoint of $146,500. MD Anderson offers employer-paid medical coverage for employees working 30 or more hours per week, along with optional dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Additional benefits include accruals for paid time off and extended illness, a defined-benefit pension through the Teachers Retirement System, and tuition assistance after six months of service.
The Ambulatory Treatment Center operates from 7:30 a.m. To 8:30 p.m. And requires a rotating shift schedule. The role is described as offering a “rare opportunity to contribute to a developing model of care” and providing “meaningful influence on clinical practice and patient outcomes.”
MD Anderson Cancer Center states the position may require maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, necessitating routine reviews and screening as defined by Texas law.
