Andrea Collarini and Nicolás Kicker of Argentina advanced to the final of the men’s doubles competition at the IEB+ Argentina Open in Buenos Aires on Saturday, defeating their opponents in the semifinals.

The Argentina Open, held at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, is an ATP 250 tournament on the ATP Tour and is played on outdoor clay courts. Tennium has been the organizing body of the event since 2017. The club, known as the “Cathedral of Argentinean tennis,” has a capacity of 5,500.

This year’s tournament features a prize pool of US$688,985, according to Wikipedia. João Fonseca was the defending champion in singles entering the 2026 tournament, having won the title in 2025. Guido Andreozzi and Théo Arribagé were the 2025 doubles champions.

The tournament is the first of three events comprising the South American “Golden Swing” on the ATP Tour. Several prominent Argentine players have previously won the singles title, including Guillermo Coria, Gaston Gaudio, Juan Monaco, David Nalbandian, Diego Schwartzman, and Facundo Diaz Acosta. Carlos Alcaraz also claimed the trophy in a previous year.

Matteo Berrettini made a successful return to the courts at the Argentina Open, while Gael Monfils was forced to cancel part of his farewell tour due to illness. Concerns have also been raised regarding a recurring back injury affecting Joao Fonseca’s performance during the tournament.
