Angelina Jolie’s ‘Couture’ Premiere & Meghan Markle’s Hollywood Glamour

Angelina Jolie premiered “Couture” in Paris this week, a film exploring a filmmaker confronting a cancer diagnosis while immersed in the high-stakes world of Parisian fashion. Jolie, who portrays the director, described the project as “incredibly personal,” referencing the impact of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand’s, battle with breast cancer and eventual death.

The film, directed by Alice Winocour, sees Jolie’s character navigating the intense pressures of Fashion Week alongside a life-altering health crisis. Winocour specifically sought Jolie for the role, recognizing a connection between the actress’s personal history and the narrative. Jolie reportedly wore a necklace belonging to her late mother during filming, seeking comfort during emotionally challenging scenes, according to reports.

At the Paris premiere, Jolie appeared in a sheer, embroidered Givenchy gown, accompanied by co-stars Louis Garrel and Vincent Lindon. Her look was completed with jewelry from Italian firm Garatti and black stiletto heels. The event marked a return to public engagements for Jolie following recent humanitarian work, including a visit to Rafah in the Gaza Strip in January.

Elsewhere, Sarah Jessica Parker hosted a celebration in Recent York for the release of Marc Shaiman’s memoir, “Never Mind the Happy: Showbiz Stories from a Sore Winner.” Parker was joined by her husband, Matthew Broderick, and their three children: James Wilkie, Tabitha Hodge, and Marion Loretta. James Wilkie has begun acting, appearing in an episode of the series “Elsbeth” alongside his father, while one of the twins reportedly has no interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts.

In Los Angeles, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, attended the Fifteen Percent Pledge gala, advocating for increased representation of Black individuals in the American workforce. The initiative aims for companies to dedicate 15% of their employment to Black people, reflecting their proportion of the U.S. Population. Meghan wore a custom white strapless gown with a black velvet cape by Harbison Studio, paired with Stuart Weitzman sandals and vintage onyx and diamond earrings.
