Marc Leishman and Bryson DeChambeau share the lead after the first round of the LIV Golf Adelaide tournament, carding matching 6-under 66s at The Grange Golf Club on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The event, offering a $30 million purse with $4 million to the individual winner, marks the league’s fourth visit to Adelaide, Australia.
DeChambeau’s round included a remarkable recovery on the par-5 10th hole, where he topped his tee shot, sending it tumbling forward 245 yards before ultimately making birdie. “It was a great line drive into the tee box and bounced it off the cart path,” DeChambeau said, according to LIV Golf’s website. “I had a nice scuff mark. Some kid has a nice scuff marked ball out there. Then it was a perfect 287-yard 3-wood to 27 feet, and nice two-putt for birdie.”
Leishman, a home favorite, produced a bogey-free round, aiming to become the first Australian to win the individual title at the Adelaide event. He previously was part of the winning Ripper GC team in 2024. “I was part of the team win in 2024, and that felt like winning a major for me,” Leishman stated. “It was pretty awesome to have so many people that were equally as happy to celebrate with. I think an Australian winning here would be massive.”
Dustin Johnson and Anthony Kim are tied for third place, one stroke behind the leaders, both carding 5-under 67s. Kim’s appearance marks his first week with the 4Aces GC, replacing Patrick Reed. The 4Aces GC likewise leads the team competition by two shots.
The tournament continues Friday, with the team and individual competitions both offering substantial prize money. The winning team will receive $3 million, while second place earns $1.5 million. Individual payouts range from $4 million for the winner to $50,000 for players finishing in ties for 48th through 57th place.
