A 45-year-classic man died Thursday after a shooting east of Dickinson, North Dakota, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of Interstate 94 Business Loop around 11:30 a.m. And found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators identified a suspect, a 46-year-old man, and located him in a vehicle in Dickinson. The suspect was arrested in the parking lot of the Dickinson Public Safety Center following a brief pursuit, authorities said.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Scott Rutter and Undersheriff Aaron Rochon, is investigating the incident. The office provides law enforcement services to the 27,472 residents of Stark County, as well as visitors to the area.
The crime scene was processed throughout the day. The Sheriff’s Office encourages citizens to submit anonymous tips via text message by sending the keyword NDSTARK and their tip to 847411, a service provided in partnership with the North Dakota Sheriff’s and Deputies Association and funded by the North Dakota Department of Human Services. The tip line is intended for non-emergency use, and 911 should always be dialed in emergency situations.
