Siemens Energy is focusing on enabling the transition to a more sustainable energy system, supporting companies and countries in reducing emissions across the energy landscape, according to a statement released by the company. The firm’s stated purpose is to “energize society” through innovative technologies and the practical application of modern ideas.

With approximately 100,000 employees globally, Siemens Energy builds upon a legacy tracing back to 1847 with the founding of Siemens, though the company itself was formally established five years ago. The company’s technology currently supports roughly one-sixth of the world’s total power generation.

Sustainability is central to Siemens Energy’s business strategy, driving future growth, improving prosperity and increasing resilience, the company states. The firm aims to be a partner of choice for stakeholders and a key player in the global energy transition. For the fiscal year 2025, Siemens Energy will report according to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in its Annual Report.

Siemens Energy’s sustainability program is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on SDG 5, 7, 8, 9, and 13. The company emphasizes the need for immediate action to address climate change while meeting growing energy demands.

The company’s efforts extend to decarbonization goals, innovation, inclusion and diversity, and a commitment to environmental health and safety, operating under a “zero harm” approach. Resource management and sustainability within the supply chain are also key components of the program.

Siemens Energy’s Smart Infrastructure division highlights the urgency of accelerating change to limit global warming, advocating for the decarbonization of energy and building infrastructure through increased energy efficiency and the electrification of demand using renewable sources. Digitalization is identified as a critical enabler of sustainability across energy systems, buildings, and industries. The company recently published its Infrastructure Transition Monitor 2025 report, detailing progress and priorities in the infrastructure transition.

The company’s activities are implemented through collaboration between its businesses, regional entities, and central functions, with progress measured against strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
