Lisa McHugh: Sepsis Hospitalization & Warning Signs

Country music singer Lisa McHugh has been hospitalised with sepsis, forcing her to postpone her first performance of 2026. The singer, who lives in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, announced the cancellation of her scheduled concert with Nathan Carter at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny on Thursday evening.

“I’m so sorry to say that I won’t be able to perform tonight with Nathan Carter at the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny,” McHugh stated in a message to fans. “I was admitted to hospital a couple of days ago with sepsis, but I want to reassure you all that I’m in the right place and receiving the best care and treatment to get things under control. I just need time to rest and recover. I will be absolutely fine.”

The performance was to be McHugh’s return to the stage after being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in 2025. She expressed disappointment at missing the concert, adding, “I’m so disappointed to miss what was meant to be my first show back, but I’m sure you’ll all have a fantastic night with Nathan as always. I can’t wait to notice you all remarkably soon.”

McHugh reassured fans that she is receiving appropriate medical attention, stating, “I’m in the right place and receiving the best care and treatment to get things under control.” She anticipates needing time to recover, suggesting her “new year is starting in March instead.”

Fans have responded to the news with messages of support on social media, expressing their well wishes for a swift recovery and anticipation for her return to performing.
