England Women U23s vs Netherlands U23s: Shrewsbury Town Host Match | March 6th
Shrewsbury Town’s Croud Meadow stadium will host an England Women’s Under-23 international against the Netherlands on Friday, March 6th, with a 7pm kick-off.
The match marks the first home fixture of 2026 for the Young Lionesses, continuing a pattern of Shropshire hosting England WU23 games for the past two seasons. Ticket prices are set at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, and £1 for those under 14, available directly through the club.
England and the Netherlands last met in the opening match of the 2024-25 season, resulting in a 1-1 draw in Escharen, with Laura Blindkilde Brown scoring for England. Michelle Agyemang previously scored the winning goal for the Young Lionesses in a 1-0 victory over Portugal at Shrewsbury in October 2024.
Shrewsbury Town has previously hosted the WU23s in a 3-0 win against Belgium in September 2023, a match that featured players who have since progressed to the senior England squad, including Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Missy Bo Kearns, Ruby Mace, and Jess Naz.
Lauren Smith recently took on the role of WU23s interim head coach, following the departure of Emma Coates in December 2025. The team’s most recent result was a 2-4 defeat against the USA on December 1st, 2025.
