A new horror film, Whistle – Il Richiamo della Morte (Whistle – The Call of Death), is set to release in Italian cinemas on February 19th, with screenings already scheduled across multiple regions, including Abruzzo, Basilicata, and Calabria. The film stars Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, and Percy Hynes White.
Directed by Corin Hardy, known for his operate on The Nun, and produced by the team behind Longlegs and The House – The Awakening of Evil, Whistle centers on a group of high school students who discover an ancient Aztec artifact – a death whistle – used to guide the souls of sacrificial victims to the afterlife. A five-minute exclusive preview of the film is currently available on Mediaset Infinity.
The film is rated 14+ and runs for 100 minutes. Screenings are planned in numerous cities and towns, including Chieti and Montesilvano in Abruzzo; Matera in Basilicata; Catanzaro in Calabria; and Casoria, Marcianise, Naples, Nola, and Salerno in Campania. Further screenings are scheduled throughout Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardia, Piemonte, Puglia, Sardegna, Sicilia, Toscana, Trentino-Alto Adige, Umbria, and Veneto.
The Space Cinema and UCI Cinemas chains are hosting the majority of the screenings, with some locations also including Notorious Cinemas and Dream Cinema. The film is being distributed in Italy by Midnight Factory.
